Carrier Representative at Bellavance Trucking Inc – Milton, Vermont

Purpose: To manage and sell our freight to outside carriers by working with customers, outside carriers, dispatch, and drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer phone calls and emails daily.
• Ability to sell freight and build a dedicated carrier base.
• Must be able to negotiate with people in a fast-paced environment.
• Dispatching drivers on shipments.
• Data entry: accurate tracking and updating of shipments, updating freight bills, and entering partner carrier rates.
• Offering solutions to carriers when issues arise at a facility. This could be incorrect paperwork, pickup numbers, or compensating for detention.
• Uploading accurate carrier files into our shared drive.
• Contact facilities to schedule pickup and delivery appointments.
• Collecting documents for billing once the shipment has been delivered.
• Vetting of carriers using the provided tools/software.

Experience & Qualifications:

• High school degree or equivalent. Associates or Bachelor's a plus.
• 1-2 years of general office experience.
• Willingness to learn. Must have a positive, upbeat personality. Self-confidence and work ethic are crucial for succeeding in this role.
• Experience working in a team environment.

Requirements:

Monday – Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
