- Review incoming submissions for completeness and coordinate with brokers, TPAs, and internal partners.
- Upload, validate, and analyze data using underwriting platforms and AI tools.
- Evaluate, price, and issue proposals for specific and aggregate stop-loss coverage.
- Calculate renewal rates based on a thorough analysis of claims experience and risk indicators.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with producer channels and internal partners.
- Participate in underwriting roundtables and collaborate with claims and policy departments.
- Organize and prioritize a high-volume book of business while meeting deadlines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of underwriting decisions and required sign-offs.
- Support broker and client strategy discussions with underwriting insights.
- Contribute to process improvements and continuous initiatives across the department.
- Stay informed on market trends and regulatory developments.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a high-volume workload.
- Proficiency with underwriting systems and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new platforms and tools.
- Bachelors degree preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
- 57 years of medical underwriting experience required.
- Experience with MGUs, TPAs, or carrier-side underwriting teams is a plus.
