Responsibilities:
- Lead a preschool classroom of 3-year-old children, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning activities and projects.
- Design and execute curriculum using learning centers, books, and hands-on experiences.
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Maintain classroom organization, routines, and appropriate child-to-teacher ratios.
- Communicate regularly with families, including sharing updates and photos throughout the week.
- Provide a weekly recap to families summarizing classroom activities and learning.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings focused on planning, collaboration, and support.
Qualifications:
- CDA or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education required.
- Ability to work 9 AM to 3 PM (30 hours a week) daily from September to June.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working in a preschool classroom preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and classroom management.
- Ability to plan and execute curriculum independently.
- Warm, engaging, and professional communication style.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development (minimum 15 hours annually).
- Must meet New York state licensing requirements.
