Yellowstone Forever (YF) is the official nonprofit partner of Yellowstone National Park. Our mission is to protect, preserve, and enhance Yellowstone National Park through education and philanthropy. YF connects people to Yellowstone through outstanding visitor experiences and educational programs and translates those experiences into lifelong support of the park and philanthropic investment in its future. Our educational programming and products help people enhance their understanding and appreciation of the wildlife, natural wonders, and cultural history of the park. YF’s operations include Park Stores in and around Yellowstone; the Yellowstone Forever Institute, which offers in-depth educational programing for people of all ages; and a robust development program focused on creating and growing strong relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations that lead to financial investments in priority park projects.

The Development Coordinator, Annual Giving and Communications, plays a vital role in supporting YF’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This position coordinates annual giving campaigns, manages communications with donors and prospects, and provides administrative and logistical support to the Director of Annual Giving, the Manager, Donor Stewardship and Communications and Manager, Philanthropy Operations. The Development Coordinator ensures the smooth execution of the annual giving program and helps foster positive donor relationships through effective communication and stewardship.

Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities:

Annual Giving Support

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and follow-up for annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, digital, and in-person, membership initiatives.
  • Assist with donor segmentation, list management, and data analytics for annual giving efforts.
  • Support the creation, review, and distribution of campaign materials and donor communications.
  • Track campaign progress and prepare regular reports for leadership.
  • Review, update, clean, and maintain donor records in the database to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in all gift processing related tasks associated with annual giving, in collaboration with the Manager, Philanthropy Operations
  • Perform donor follow-up administrative tasks for rejected gifts, including communication and resolution tracking.
  • Support the implementation and execution of in-store membership sales in coordination with the Manager of Corporate and Community Giving as directed by the Director of Annual Giving

Communications & Donor Engagement

  • Assist with management of donor inquiries and requests related to memberships and annual giving, responding promptly and professionally via phone and email.
  • Draft, edit, and send donor notification letters, acknowledgments, and systemized stewardship communications.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries via philanthropy phone lines and email inboxes, ensuring timely and professional correspondence.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Donor Stewardship and Communications, to support stewardship projects and donor engagement activities.
  • Maintain and update donor records in the CRM database, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Administrative & Logistical Support

  • Provide administrative support for all annual giving programs, including data management and gift processing.
  • Assist with inventory management, procurement, and distribution of materials and mailings for the Philanthropy department.
  • Support logistics for donor events and experiences, including planning, implementation, and post-event follow-up.
  • Coordinate purchasing and logistics for philanthropy-related tasks.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Director of Annual Giving and the Manager, Donor Stewardship and Communications, to ensure seamless support for all annual giving and stewardship functions.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment with YF employees, volunteers, and partners.

Other Duties

  • Other tasks as assigned by the Director, Annual Giving and Donor Engagement, Chief Development Officer, or other designated leadership.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in executive support, donor stewardship, Annual giving, communications, nonprofit, fundraising, or related roles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with donor databases and CRM systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external vendors
  • Commitment to Yellowstone Forever’s mission and values
  • Flexibility to work in Bozeman, Montana (preferred), or remotely

Compensation:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, which will be based in Bozeman. Travel between the offices and throughout the park may be required. A competitive benefit package is available with this position, in addition to the knowledge that your efforts directly benefit Yellowstone National Park and having the opportunity to work in one of the world’s premiere wilderness areas.
