Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant position is responsible for analyzing and implementing GAAP requirements, preparation and analysis of financial statements, prepare management reports and analysis, providing recommendations for control risk mitigation. Understands complete business process in the ERP system and may lead multiple accounting business processes. Significant involvement in company audits. Able to work independently on multiple processes with limited oversight and ability to meet deadlines.
Key Results Areas:
1. Independently understand, analyze and communicate GAAP requirements and ensure compliance. Requires ability to comply with specific customer contractual requirements.
2. Financial Statements and Reporting
- Prepare, analyze, and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- External Reporting.
- Prepare complex account reconciliation and investigate discrepancies.
- May lead month-end established close process with attention to deadlines, accuracy and completeness.
- Responsible for management reporting and close package.
- Responsible for supporting budgeting and forecasting as needed with variance analysis.
- Manage accounting system controls, e.g. GL COA, GL controls, financial report design, and posting process.
- Lead, coordinate and support all tax filings.
- Manage the full lifecycle of capital assets, including review of proper accounting treatment, tracking, capitalization and disposals.
- Mentor and support junior staff
3. Business Controls
- Cognizant of and independently recommends changes and improvements for control over Finance functions.
- Knowledgeable of appropriate cross-functional business level controls and able to recommend remediation or risk mitigation (segregation of duties).
- Able to identify, analyze and solve problems by leading and implementing solutions with the ability to appropriately access process changes that can affect cross functional areas.
- Able to assess and implement Sarbanes Oxley control requirements.
4. ERP system / manufacturing systems
- Understanding of full cycle business process and reporting available in ERP system.
- May be responsible for integration of multiple accounting applications.
5. External Audit
- Significant involvement in audits including communication, research and analysis.
6. Government Accounting
- Research FAR, DAR requirements and make recommendations and apply them to business processes.
- May prepare actual and provisional cost submission with analysis.
To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required.
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related academic field.
Experience:
- Five years’ experience in accounting or closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex financial models.
- Strong internal communication skills to Sr. Mgt and among management of cross functional areas.
- Manufacturing accounting or audit experience.
Other:
- Must be willing to work overtime as required.
- Travel on rare occasions.
Desired Job Qualification:
- Experience with Epicor software systems.
Skills:

- Physical demands: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Required to speak and communicate clearly with others.
- Mental demands: While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is required to read, write, analyze data and reports, exercise judgment, develop plans, procedures and goals, present information to others and work under pressure.
- Work Environment: This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $88,000 – $108,600. This range represent the anticipated minimum and maximum base + bonus for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant’s qualifications (education, training and/or experience related to this role), and therefore, may fall outside the range shown, depending on the circumstances.
