Position Summary
-
Licensed Practical Nurse provides quality nursing care to patients under the direction of a physician or registered nurse in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and Access Health Louisiana protocols and standards.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Education
-
Current Louisiana LPN license and knowledge of their scope of practice.
-
CPR Certification required.
-

Experience
-
Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in Med-Surg or clinical/hospital settings.
-

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-
Calm, professional attitude in stressful situations and interactions.
-
High level of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality.
-
Excellent analytical skills to assess and evaluate patient needs and develop and implement a care plan.
-
Handles a multitude of tasks simultaneously.
-
Deal with and/or solves stressful situations.
-
Communicates with patients, physicians, and other staff in verbal and written form.
-
Provides safe and effective nursing care.
-
Maintains professional composure under stress as in emergency situations.

Physical and Mental Requirements
-
Stands and walks most of the day.
-
Read gauges, digital read-outs, graphs and educational material, and patient charts in English. (Visual acuity)

Ability to move to exam rooms and workspaces.
-
MUST be able to travel to other Access Health Clinics as needed.
-
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, including pushing and/or pulling.
-
Operate office equipment including telephone, printer, and fax.
-
Ability to operate vehicle if needed for occasional travel to other Access Health Clinics.
-
OSHA Category I: Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
