POSITION SUMMARY

The Seasonal/Summer Maintenance & Repair Technician supports general facility maintenance, including electrical, lighting, plumbing, doors, fixtures, and other building systems. The role also includes routine preventive maintenance activities, timely repair of down equipment, and general facility upkeep and janitorial support to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient production environment.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which restricts access to export-controlled information to U.S. persons. A U.S. person is generally defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or others specifically authorized under U.S. export regulations. General work authorization (e.g., work permit or EAD) or visa sponsorship does not meet ITAR requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Facility Maintenance and Janitorial Support

  • Perform minor building maintenance tasks as needed to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Clean floors using industrial floor scrubbers on a scheduled basis.
  • Support general facility cleanliness, including ceilings, walls, and shared spaces.
  • Maintain job-related equipment used in maintenance and facility support activities.
  • Ensure proper handling, packaging, and disposal of waste materials in compliance with procedures.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the garage, coolant storage areas, and other designated spaces.
  • Support groundskeeping activities as needed.

Machine and Equipment Maintenance

  • Check hydraulic, spindle, and related fluid levels and maintain as needed.
  • Replace or clean screens, filters, and associated components as required.
  • Inspect lifting equipment, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and other safety devices; document results per required schedule.
  • Repair, replace, adjust, and align components of machinery and equipment to support production uptime.
  • Inspect, adjust, and maintain coolant concentration and condition.
  • Perform monthly, semi-annual, and annual preventive maintenance tasks per manufacturer recommendations and established schedules.
Requirements:

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Able to perform basic tasks in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation with minimal supervision required.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to learn new skills and concepts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrate strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • High school graduate with trade or technical school education preferred, in areas such as Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or Machine Tool Technology.
  • Prior work experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or related hands-on environment in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, hydraulic, pneumatic, heating, AC systems, and brazing soldering principles and practices.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and meet company driving record requirements, as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is on the production floor and involves regular exposure to active manufacturing areas.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and composite or steel-toe shoes, must be worn as required.
  • The work environment is a clean, climate-controlled facility with modern equipment and a safety-first culture. Ambient conditions include typical plant lighting and machinery operation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk on level surfaces throughout the workday.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle tools, controls, and objects.
  • Reach with hands and arms, including above shoulder height and below the waist.
  • Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl as needed.
  • Talk and hear to communicate effectively.
  • Lift, slide, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs using proper techniques.
  • Comfortable working in small or confined spaces while following established safety protocols.
  • May be required to work at varying heights, including the use of ladders, platforms, or elevated work areas, while following established safety protocols.
