We’re looking for a hands-on, solutions-driven Manufacturing Engineer to support our Molding and Assembly teams. In this role, you’ll evaluate current operations, identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and quality improvements, and help bring those ideas to life. You’ll be a key partner across departments—designing processes, troubleshooting issues, and building smarter ways to get the job done.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Develops, maintains and improves manufacturing methods.

2. Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and designs, layout of equipment, and workspace for maximum efficiency. Develops packaging and supports NPI process for related activities.

3. Evaluates efficiency reports, NCR’s, SPC reports, and customer and employer feedback to determine jobs needing process improvement.

4. Analyzes jobs that are running to determine areas where increased efficiencies and quality improvements may be achieved. Evaluates procedures, utilization of automation, ergonomics, training, manpower utilization, tools, workflow, etc.

5. Partners with other departments to implement process changes or improvements.

6. Prioritizes projects based on production needs and management requests.

7. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

8. Provides feedback to Account Managers on cycle times, process issues, and/or needed production changes.

9. Coordinates with Mechatronics Department to design and build fixtures or equipment.

10. Confers with engineering and sales staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

11. Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

12. Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

13. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

14. Participates in NPI and other production planning meetings and ensure department expectations, goals, and deadlines are met.

15. Assist in managing some projects.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

2. Must be able to read and understand part drawings and specifications.

3. Must have basic understanding of injection molding operations, mold design and window study techniques.

4. Must be able to perform root cause analysis.

5. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.

6. Must have advanced computer skills (MRPII, spreadsheet, word processing, Solid Works, etc.) and be able to use portions that are applicable to job function.

7. Must have basic knowledge and experience in CAD systems.

8. Must have basic knowledge of electronics and pneumatics.

9. Requires minimum three years’ experience in secondary operations, designing area layouts and work cells.

10. Must be able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

11. Must have basic machining knowledge and experience in the operation of fabrication equipment (i.e. mills, grinders, lathes, etc.).

12. Must have basic knowledge in Process Control technology involving pneumatics, hydraulics, and electronics.

13. Basic knowledge of PLC is preferred.

14. Must have basic knowledge of ultrasonic welding and pad printing.

15. Requires previous experience in injection molding, designing area layouts and work cells, and/or manufacturing cost reduction.

16. Requires B.A./B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
