Responsibilities:

  • Process end-to-end payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accurate and timely payroll cycles.
  • Maintain and update payroll records including employee hours, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and perform general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy across financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and prepare required payroll tax filings.
  • Partner with HR to support benefits administration, including employee enrollments, updates, and terminations.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports on compensation, payroll expenses, and financial data for management review.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation and reconciliation details.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
  • Strong experience with payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles including journal entries, debits and credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger processes.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar financial systems; experience with HRIS platforms is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll tax regulations and benefits-related payroll processing.
  • Strong analytical and data review skills with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • High level of accuracy in data entry, including strong 10-key typing skills.
