As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving company growth by generating qualified leads, building strategic relationships, and converting opportunities into new business. You will manage the full sales development lifecycle, including outbound prospecting, pipeline management, customer discovery, proposal coordination, and cross-functional collaboration with technical and leadership teams. This role plays a key part in expanding Techneaux’s market presence, increasing revenue, and strengthening long-term customer partnerships within the industrial controls and technology services space. The expected base salary range for this position is $75,000–$90,000 annually. This role offers additional incentive-based compensation aligned with performance. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate new business opportunities through outbound calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn, networking events, trade shows, and referral channels
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective customers, partners, and industry influencers
- Develop target account lists, customer profiles, and partner maps aligned with company growth objectives
- Identify key decision-makers and buying authorities within target organizations
- Utilize AI tools, social selling, and multi-channel prospecting methods to create new opportunities
- Manage inbound leads, online inquiries, and prospect communications with timely follow-up
- Build, maintain, and continuously develop a healthy sales pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Re-engage dormant leads and existing CRM contacts to identify new sales opportunities
- Track all prospect interactions, pipeline stages, follow-up tasks, and activity metrics within the CRM
- Develop account strategies, action plans, and sales forecasts to support revenue goals
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer needs, pain points, and project expectations
- Present company solutions, value propositions, and service capabilities to prospective customers
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, estimators, and technical experts during deep-dive sales meetings
- Coordinate the proposal and quote development process with internal stakeholders
- Gather customer feedback, address objections, and support negotiations through close
- Ensure smooth customer handoff to operations and technical teams after contract award
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute sales strategies for existing and emerging markets
- Provide market feedback, customer insights, and recommendations to improve sales and marketing initiatives
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity, pricing, regulations, and service offerings
- Represent the company professionally at community events, industry associations, and customer meetings
What you will need to be successful in this role:
- 3+ years of business development, technical sales, or consultative selling experience
- Proven ability to generate leads through outbound prospecting, networking, and relationship-based selling
- Demonstrated success building and managing a sales pipeline from prospecting through close
- Strong CRM proficiency with experience tracking activity, managing opportunities, and forecasting
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and value propositions to decision-makers
- Strong strategic thinking, market development, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated with excellent time management, organization, and follow-up discipline
- Working knowledge of industrial controls, automation, engineering services, or technical service industries preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred
Pay Range = $75,000–$90,000 annually
