  • Monitor portfolio performance using data analytics, identify trends, and implement pricing, growth, and operational improvements to optimize results.
  • Collaborate with program leaders and sales teams to ensure alignment on strategy, communication, and execution of underwriting objectives.
  • Develop training programs, promote continuous improvement, and drive process enhancements to improve workflow efficiency, quality, and service levels.
  • Conduct risk assessment and underwriting as needed, including pricing, coverage evaluation, and risk selection based on established guidelines.
  • Manage service level agreements, ensure quality control, and resolve root-cause operational issues to improve overall performance and client satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of commercial insurance underwriting experience, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong technical underwriting expertise and deep understanding of insurance products, risk selection, pricing, and regulatory standards.
  • Proven ability to use data analytics to assess portfolio performance, profitability, and service metrics.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build strong relationships.
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional insurance designations and state insurance licenses are preferred.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $120,000 to $150,000 plus annual performance-based bonus.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) plan with 4% company match and immediate vesting.
  • Life, disability, and supplemental insurance coverage.
  • Generous paid time off, paid holidays, summer hours, and flexible work arrangements.
  • “Summer Fridays” with early dismissal during the summer season.
  • Wellness benefits including employee assistance programs, telemedicine access, and digital fitness memberships.
  • Paid parental leave, commuter benefits, dependent care flexible spending accounts, and sabbatical opportunities.
  • Strong focus on professional development, growth opportunities, and long-term career progression in a collaborative environment.
