Job Summary
The Gas Turbine Mechanic performs hands-on inspection, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of gas turbines and related equipment in a shop-based environment. This role is critical to ensuring equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. This is an onsite position at a fixed facility (not a field service role). You’ll be part of a hands-on team focused on quality rebuild and repair work—no travel, just real work in a shop environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on gas turbines and associated equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, and identify root causes
- Execute preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
- Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and applicable industry standards
- Document maintenance, repair, and inspection activities accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize turbine performance
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and testing of turbine units and components
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience as a Gas Turbine Mechanic or in a similar role within power generation or an industrial environment
- Working knowledge of gas turbine systems, components, and maintenance practices
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
Education and Certifications
- Technical training or certification in mechanical, electrical, or related field preferred
- Relevant industry certifications are a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights as required
Work Environment
- Onsite, industrial setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
- This role is based at a fixed facility; travel is not a regular requirement
