Job Description
Job Function:
Performs routine support work assisting with programs, activities, and daily operations within the Resource and Recreation Center. This position works under direct supervision to support Recreation Leaders and staff in delivering safe, engaging, and well-organized programs. Assists with participant supervision, program setup, and general facility operations to ensure a positive experience for all patrons. This position is based at the Resource and Recreation Center, which operates seven (7) days a week. Work schedules may include evenings and weekends based on facility operations and programming needs.

Essential Duties:
- Assists with setup and breakdown of program areas, activities, and special events.
- Supports Recreation Leaders in the delivery of programs and activities.
- Provides general supervision of participants to help ensure safety and appropriate behavior
- Assists in maintaining clean, organized, and safe program spaces and equipment.
- Distributes supplies and assists participants with activities as directed.
- Greets participants and provides general information to patrons and families.
- Assists with monitoring attendance and basic recordkeeping.
- Observes and reports safety concerns, incidents, or behavioral issues to supervisory staff.
- Supports overall facility operations, including cleaning, organizing, and resetting spaces.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to interact positively with youth, families, and the general public.
- Ability to maintain a safe and organized environment.
- Ability to respond appropriately in routine and emergency situations.
- Basic communication and customer service skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Some experience working with youth, recreation programs, or customer service preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Complete the required National Incident Management System (NIMS) training within 6 months of completion of probationary period.
- Valid state Florida Driver’s License required.
Essential Physical Skills:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist with recreational activities for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 25–40 pounds.
- Ability to operate recreational equipment and basic computer systems.
- Acceptable eyesight and hearing (with or without correction).
Environmental Conditions:
- Works in both indoor and outdoor settings
