About This Position

Summary/Objective:

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor (SRS) reports to the Warehouse Manager, Plant Manager, or Director of Operations. This role is responsible for managing and scheduling all inbound and outbound shipments, including selecting carriers when applicable and establishing the trucking schedule. The SRS oversees the scheduling and workload of direct reports to align with production and shipping/receiving demands. Additionally, the SRS leads all physical inventory counts and is accountable for the movement of materials throughout the plant.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the receipt of all shipments, ensuring merchandise is unloaded, inspected, and accurately matched to purchase and sales orders.
  • Manage the movement of materials from receiving and storage areas to shipping or production, ensuring efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound shipments meet quality standards and are free of damage.
  • Partner with Quality Control to enforce compliance of trucks, trailers, and incoming materials.
  • Strategically optimize warehouse space through systematic organization and inventory placement.
  • Identify process improvements and support the Warehouse Manager, Plant Manager, or Director of Operations in streamlining workflows.
  • Lead by example in maintaining accuracy, neatness, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Operate and oversee safe use of forklifts, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Maintain precise records of all daily receiving and shipping activities in the computer system.
  • Coordinate warehouse staff schedules with production requirements to maximize productivity.
  • Drive operational excellence by taking ownership of tasks and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare routine reports and correspondence accurately and efficiently.
  • Designs, monitors, and maintains a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all safety programs.
  • Ensures compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure seamless warehouse operations.

Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 4 years in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, time management, and computer skills.
  • Goal-oriented, accountable, and proactive in taking initiative.
  • Effectively solves practical problems and navigates situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and reach.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 annually, plus bonus
