About the Role:
The Accounting Admin plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations within a manufacturing environment by ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions. This position is responsible for maintaining organized financial records, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The role requires close collaboration with various departments to gather necessary documentation and resolve discrepancies, contributing to the overall financial integrity of the company. The Accounting Admin will also assist in preparing reports and documentation for audits and compliance purposes. Ultimately, this position assists with ensuring that the accounting functions run smoothly, enabling informed financial decision-making and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in an accounting or administrative role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Experience with ERP systems used in manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Prior experience supporting audit processes.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.
- Maintain and update financial records, including invoices, purchase orders, and payment documentation.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary schedules and reports.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Prepare documentation and assist with internal and external audits as required.
- Maintain filing systems and ensure confidentiality of financial information.
- Assist in generating financial reports and summaries for management review.
- Answer phones, assist customers and vendors with inquiries, and oversee reception area.
- Other duties as assigned.
