Position Summary

Queens Community House is seeking a dynamic and strategic Associate Executive Director (AED) for Older Adult Services to serve as a key member of the Executive Team. This leadership role is responsible for shaping the vision, strategy, and overall direction of the Older Adult Services division, while contributing to agency-wide strategic planning and leadership.

The AED will oversee a diverse portfolio of center-based and community programs serving adults aged 60 and above. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead innovative initiatives that promote program excellence, intergenerational engagement, participant satisfaction, and measurable outcomes.

The ideal candidate will balance multiple priorities, including program quality, staff leadership, partnership development, fundraising, contract compliance, and financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities

The Associate Executive Director will:

  • Provide leadership and supervision to a team of senior staff, including division directors
  • Oversee a division budget of approximately $11 million and a team of ~90 employees
  • Ensure alignment with QCH’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities
  • Develop and implement a strategic growth plan for Older Adult Services
  • Lead continuous quality improvement efforts across all programs
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, elected officials, and stakeholders
  • Support fundraising efforts, including government and foundation proposals
  • Oversee contract compliance and program performance
  • Manage and optimize program budgets in collaboration with the fiscal team
  • Represent QCH in advocacy efforts at the citywide and statewide levels
  • Partner with the Executive Team on agency-wide leadership, planning, and development
  • Engage with the Board of Directors as needed
Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a passionate and strategic leader who champions services for older adults and demonstrates:

  • Extensive experience in human services, particularly in older adult programming
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget development and management
  • A track record of successfully managing and developing supervisory staff
  • Experience cultivating partnerships with external stakeholders and funders
  • Ability to use data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes
  • Experience working with government contracts and funding streams
  • Success contributing to fundraising and proposal development efforts
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation and sustainability
Older Adult Services at QCH

QCH’s Older Adult Services division supports older adults in remaining healthy, active, and connected to their communities. Programs include:

  • Six Older Adult Centers serving over 7,000 participants annually
  • Case management services for homebound seniors
  • Home Delivered Meals program (approximately 700 meals daily)
  • Social Adult Day Program at the Forest Hills Community Center
  • Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC) program
  • The Queens Center for Gay Seniors, the first LGBTQ+ senior center in Queens
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $130,000 – $150,000 (first year)
