- Underwrite and assess complex mid‑market cases using established guidelines and independent judgment.
- Analyze economic and financial trends to inform pricing and retention strategies.
- Develop long‑term solutions that strengthen profitability and customer relationships.
- Partner across departments to ensure decisions consider enterprise‑wide impacts.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert and mentor to underwriting colleagues.
- Strong proficiency in underwriting guidelines, procedures, contract provisions, and state insurance statutes.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex risk and make sound, strategic decisions.
- Experience mentoring or supporting the development of other underwriters.
- Familiarity with mid‑market or regional account underwriting environments.
- Exposure to AI tools—such as Microsoft Copilot—is a plus.
- Negotiation: Uses effective negotiation strategies to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Communication: Clearly expresses ideas in both written and verbal formats.
- Customer Focus & Time Management: Delivers strong service while managing multiple priorities efficiently.

Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.
The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.
Salary Range:
$76,250.00 - $111,500.00Positions will be posted for at least 5 days from original posting date.
