We’re a remote-first team headquartered in New York City, growing fast—10x in the past two years—and driven by accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. If you're excited to build a career with impact, we’d love to meet you.

Kinetic was named to Business Insurance's Best Place to Work in Insurance 2025.

The Role

This is an exciting role to join Kinetic’s underwriting team, and engage in our territory expansion. Your responsibilities will include underwriting, retaining, and servicing of renewal accounts handled by our underwriting unit. The Portfolio Underwriter is expected to partner with production underwriters, field leadership, and underwriting technicians. They will investigate and promote franchise value opportunities including up-sell of services for renewal accounts handled; engage in producer management of assigned agency plant as necessary and appropriate; and act as the owner of individual renewal portfolio profit and loss performance. Beyond your work with the renewal book of business, you will also have the opportunity to engage on smaller new business opportunities through our Express Model.

Kinetic has an incredibly unique product that we are excited to offer to our brokers as a way to set their accounts up for claims management, premium savings, and happier employees over time. You will be the beacon of this message in your interaction with our brokers. You should have a strong background in positioning a value-based product in Workers’ Compensation and not be afraid that we are competing against lower price options. You should be excited to engage with brokers and get the deal done in a way that prices the risk for profitability, and brings a can-do attitude to the team.
