Job Description
The Legal Manager is responsible for safeguarding the organization’s legal and regulatory interests by overseeing litigation, claims management, and compliance matters. This role ensures effective coordination with outside counsel, supports real estate and leasing activities, maintains entity compliance, and contributes to business operations through policy development, contract support, and intellectual property management. The Legal Manager serves as a key advisor to executive leadership, proactively mitigating risk, ensuring regulatory adherence, and supporting the company’s operational and growth objectives.
Essential Job Functions and Tasks- These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
· Manage all litigation matters, lessor claims/disputes and regulatory issues to minimize organizational risk.
· Identify, engage, and coordinate with outside counsel as needed to support legal matters.
· Monitor and collaborate with outside counsel on ongoing litigation and claims, including participation in case strategy discussions.
· Review, validate, and route outside counsel invoices for approval.
· Support discovery efforts by identifying relevant documents and custodians and coordinating legal holds with IT.
· Provide regular updates to executive leadership, including the CEO, on litigation and claims status.
· Conduct legal research related to potential claims, disputes, and regulatory matters.
· Partner with Regional Presidents and leadership to address regulatory compliance issues.
· Support real estate and leasing activities, including lease review, approvals, and verification of property ownership.
· Maintain and update lease documentation, lessor records, and review real estate reporting including bonus calculations.
· Ensure corporate entity compliance, including registrations, annual filings, and oversight of registered agent responsibilities.
· Contribute to business operations by assisting with policy development, acquisitions documentation (e.g., contracts, NDA’s, LOI’s), intellectual property management, and cross-functional collaboration with HR and other departments.
· Performs similar or related duties as required or assigned.

This work environment is an office-like setting with moderate noise.

Requirements:Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, plus 10 years of related experience.
Paralegal Certification, is preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Intermediate knowledge and skill of:
· Microsoft Windows environment.
· Internet browsers.
· Outlook
· Good understanding of types of property ownership
Must possess great attention to detail, strong organization skills, and strong written/verbal communication skills.
Ability to:
· Ability to work independently, react appropriately and anticipate events as well as needs of management and other departments related to assigned roles.
· Ability to calculate and track deadlines in all assigned roles.
· Ability to independently investigate and locate property ownership information and recorded records online.
