Plumber – North Warning System
Location: Canadian Arctic, CFS Alert, Nunavut
Type: Unionized, Rotational Position (8 weeks on, 8 weeks off)

What You’ll Do:

• Repair, maintain, and replace building plumbing and sewage systems with materials of equal or better quality, ensuring seamless operation.
• Accurately document work orders for plumbing and ablution facilities, maintaining detailed records of normal and abnormal conditions, malfunctions, and corrective actions taken.
• Conduct fire booster pump tests in alignment with National Fire Protection Association standards, documenting all results on the same day.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the site and the main NWS support center to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Follow safety standards and contribute to a respectful and secure working environment.

Who You Are:

Credentials:

• Red Seal Plumber certification.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial or industrial setting.

Skills:

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Organized and detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping skills.
• Team-oriented and adaptable to changing priorities.

Requirements:

• Eligible for ENHANCED RELIABILITY security clearance and able to pass a pre-employment medical.
• Valid passport, with the ability to overnight in Thule, Greenland, en route to CFS Alert.
• Comfortable working cross-culturally and pitching in as needed in a collaborative environment.
