USAging Overview

USAging is the national association representing and supporting the network of Area Agencies on Aging and advocating for the Title VI Native American Aging Programs. Our members help older adults and people with disabilities throughout the United States live with optimal health, well-being, independence and dignity in their homes and communities.

As the local leaders on aging well at home our members develop, coordinate and deliver a wide range of home and community-based services, including information and referral/assistance, case management, home-delivered and congregate meals, in-home services, caregiver supports, transportation, evidence-based health and wellness programs, long-term care ombudsman programs and more.

USAging is dedicated to supporting the success of our members in supporting the nation's growing population of older adults, people with disabilities and caregivers through advancing public policy, sparking innovation, strengthening the capacity of our members, raising their visibility and working to drive excellence in the fields of aging and home and community-based services.

Job Summary

The goal of USAging and our partners in the Caregiver Navigator Capacity Initiative is to build and enhance the capacity of the Aging Network to offer effective caregiver navigator services in Older Americans Act-funded Title III-E/VI-C programs by the entities administering them. USAging will work closely with Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) and Title VI Native American Programs to better understand the use of caregiver navigation services and models implemented across the network, design and test approaches for delivering caregiver navigation services, and provide technical assistance to the Aging Network to scale and replicate the most successful models.

Job Title: Program Associate

Reports to: Program Director

Duties and Responsibilities

· Assist with the development and preparation of materials, newsletter articles, research papers, PowerPoint presentations, blog posts, social media posts, website content and other written products.

· Conduct program research, including literature reviews, other research.

· Help maintain ongoing communications partners and members.

· Assist with planning and execution of conferences and webinars, taking responsibility for the effective use of support technology.

· Analyze data.

· Prepare notes on meeting proceedings for distribution to participants.

· Provide administrative support for the team by scheduling team meetings, responding to correspondence.

· Attend meetings and prepare summaries.

· Organize and maintain electronic and hard-copy project materials.

· Support other work as assigned.

· Bachelor's Degree required, with one to two years of relevant professional experience preferred, including experience working to support team functions

· Quantitative and data analysis skills a plus; ability to present data effectively using graphs, charts and other formats.

· Excellent attention to detail, deadlines and organizational and time management skills

· Familiarity with social media, newsletter, blog and website platforms.

· Experience with Constant Contact or other email platforms, Survey Monkey or other survey platforms, and webinar/communications broadcast platforms is preferred

· Experience with website maintenance platforms is preferred

· Flexibility and an ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

· Ability and willingness to travel as needed

· Self-starter with proven organizational, time management and problem-solving skills

· Must have an all-hands-on-deck attitude and a willingness to pitch in when needed

· Passion for USAging's mission of helping older adults age in place and maintain their health and independence for as long as possible

WORK HOURS AND LOCATION

This full-time position is based in USAging's Washington, DC, office. USAging will consider candidates outside of the Washington, DC area. The successful candidate will also be able to occasionally travel to member conferences and always attend the USAging Annual Conference and Tradeshow each summer for up to six days.
