Moveras is a leading manufacturer of high-quality remanufactured automatic transmissions. Our innovative processes and commitment to excellence allow us to deliver superior products to our customers. We are seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Job Summary

As a Mechanical Test Engineer at Moveras you will play a key role in supporting the expansion of our Quality team to include creating robust tests of automatic transmissions on an in-house dynamometer. You will also be responsible for updating/creating test procedures, data analysis, and execution of tests to detect top customer defects as well as leading cross functional teams to determine the root cause of the failure. Work involves the hands-on testing of various automatic transmissions and transmission sub-systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate standard operating procedures and documents related to testing of automatic transmissions and automatic transmission components
  • Develop, implement, and complete reliable, repeatable tests using a systems engineering approach that spans mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Review current test profiles and determine areas for improvement and automation.
  • Test customer return units with the intent of detecting symptoms that were not previously detectable
  • Lead multifunction groups in process & product failure analysis, determine root cause and implement robust corrective actions.
  • Conduct MSA, Capability Analyses and DOE, BOB/WOW testing.
  • Develop and implement process changes. Create updated documentation as required.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in quality control systems, inspection Technologies and transmission systems.
  • Collect, process and analysis data. Use data to develop recommendations and take action.
  • Conduct FMEAs to rank and quantify risks
  • Create, lead and train audit procedures.
  • Maintain records of company quality performance and report
  • Evaluate process and engineering controls for possible gaps in product quality

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Proficient with Excel for data collection, chart creation, formulas and pivot charts.
  • Basic understanding of automobiles and automatic transmissions
  • Experience and basic understanding of computer programming
  • Experience working with hand tools and basic measurement devices.
  • Ability to work independently and lead within a team environment
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Conduct work in an organized manner. Maintain records and follow standards.
  • Have a can do, willing to learn attitude.
