JOB SUMMARY
General Medical/Neurology located on the second floor is a 26 bed, adult medical-surgical unit serving a wide variety of patients suffering from various states of disease. The patient population that the General Medical/Neurology team cares for includes general medical-surgical patients suffering with UTIs, sepsis, pneumonia, renal issues, cardiac issues, GI issues, cellulitis, and diabetic complications. Along with the general medical-surgical patients, General Medical/Neurology cares for medical-surgical level neurology patients including patients suffering from strokes, traumatic brain injury, TIAs, seizures, and altered mental status. General Medical/Neurology team also cares for patients suffering with behavioral health related concerns.This position is responsible for providing assistance with patient care activities and non-nursing tasks under the direct supervision of the RN and in cooperation with other nursing staff. This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including infant through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Process and Patient Safety Plan at Blessing Hospital.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Good verbal communication skills
• C.N.A
  • OR be of at least 16 years of age with an active C.N.A. certification.
  • CNA certification in good standing on the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Healthcare Worker Registry
• PCA or SNA- Must have completed one of the following:
  • Patient Care Experience
  • Completed a C.N.A. Program
  • Completed at least sophomore year of a nursing program (SNA)

License/Certifications/Special Requirements:

• CNA certification in good standing on the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Healthcare Worker Registry (N/A for PCA or SNA)

• Non-exempt hourly
