Senior Engineer at National Trench Safety – Houston, Texas

Job Summary

The Senior Engineer is part of a unit designing excavation shoring projects. Ensures that engineering design, procurement, construction, and project completion comply with the project objective and contractual requirements i.e. project schedule, cost, HSE, company standards, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design excavation shoring plans.
• Provide advice and assistance to personnel on all matters about engineering.
• Solve customer needs with equipment rented and designed by NTS.
• Communicate with Sales on the best solution for the customer’s needs.
• Plan, schedule and provide work direction when required for preparation of studies, designs, processes, reports, correspondence and related data and assures the efficiency, adequacy and conformance to overall objectives of all phases of complex engineering problems.
• Bring all elements of a project together, makes certain that all elements proceed satisfactorily on schedule and initiates corrective action as required.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

• Working knowledge of codes (AISC, ASCE, etc.) and Process design standards preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience in designing sheet pile walls, h pile and lagging, or steel beam design preferred.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and presentation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering
  1. Associated classes: Statics, Steel Design, Concrete Design, Foundations, or Geotechnical Design
• Professional Engineer License preferred
• Minimum (5) five years of experience in design or project management in engineering.
