TITLE: Child & Family Specialist
FLSA: Non-Exempt
SALARY: $26.25 hourly
HYBRID REMOTE: Flexible schedule with opportunity to work-from-home twice weekly (combinations of office, field and home work days)
ABOUT WRAPAROUND
Wraparound offers child-focused, family-centered mental health services based on strength and needs. There are 10 principles to the Wraparound programs: Family Voice and Choice, Team-Based, Natural Supports, Collaboration, Community Based, Culturally Competent, Individualized Strength-based, Persistence, and Outcome Based. Our Wraparound teams work with our Parent Partners, Child & Family Specialist, and Facilitator to create goals. Together we create strategies to support families and track progress. We support clients 24/7.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Child & Family Specialist (CFS) provides direct services to children and families as identified in an individualized treatment plan and may function as a member of a child and family team. This role is responsible for working with children and their families in their home/out-of-home placements and their respective communities.
The CFS demonstrates cultural sensitivity to each client and family in all they do, including:

Assisting the ongoing development and evaluation of the child and family plan of care.

Engaging with families, in accordance with individualized child and family plans, providing concrete services to assist the child and family with their tasks of daily living. Concrete services include, but are not limited to, providing educational support, transportation, parenting assistance, home management assistance, recreational activities, and behavior management.

Advocating for and supporting individual family members and the family.

Promoting family-centered practice strategies, including family decision-making.

Assisting in crisis management to families and children when plans disrupt, including on-site consultation to others involved in plans.

Providing transportation for clients for linkage services, or other pre-approved outings, as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education /Background:
- BA/BS Degree in social services or related field highly preferred. Associates in social services required.
- 1-3 years of experience working directly with seriously disturbed children, adolescents, and families.
- Bilingual Spanish speaking required.
- CA Driver License required to provide transportation to clients.
Competencies:
- Experience working with multiethnic/racial clients and communities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well within a team atmosphere.
- Proficiency at computer required.
HYBRID REMOTE
Position is hybrid remote and requires telehealth and in-person appointments in the field and in the office, meeting with clients, prospects and community partners as needed. Employee must be available to work during office hours. Employees in crisis programs must be available to participate in the on-call rotation schedule as assigned.
