Job Description

CRM Lead Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a CRM Lead Engineer based in the United States.

We are seeking an experienced CRM Lead Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership for an enterprise Salesforce CRM platform. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of CRM Engineers while overseeing technical delivery, engineering standards, and platform reliability. You will combine strong development expertise with people leadership, guiding the design, implementation, and optimization of complex CRM solutions. Working closely with architecture, product, delivery, security, data, and DevSecOps teams, you will ensure scalable, secure, and high-quality engineering outcomes. You will also drive continuous improvement, strengthen development practices, and help modernize the platform. This is an excellent opportunity to shape enterprise CRM capabilities while remaining actively involved in technical execution.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and manage CRM Engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, performance feedback, workload planning, goal setting, and career development support.
  • Oversee hands-on Salesforce development, configuration, customization, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and platform optimization.
  • Lead technical discovery and solution planning before sprint commitments, identifying dependencies, risks, constraints, technical debt, and implementation approaches.
  • Translate product requirements and approved architecture into feasible technical solutions and clearly defined development tasks.
  • Encourage collaborative engineering practices, meaningful developer contributions, incremental delivery, and rapid feedback.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, reusable development patterns, peer code reviews, and technical best practices across Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations, and automation.
  • Oversee technical delivery of custom development, APIs, integrations, middleware, data migrations, and complex Salesforce configurations.
  • Coordinate external vendors and systems integrators, providing technical direction and reviewing deliverables to ensure engineering quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps on source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated security scanning, vulnerability remediation, deployment processes, environment management, and release controls.
  • Partner with solution architects on complex technical decisions involving integrations, security, cross-platform dependencies, and high-risk implementations.
  • Assess the downstream impact of platform changes across data models, automation, APIs, reporting, security, integrations, and dependent applications.
  • Ensure comprehensive system testing, regression testing, and release validation for platform changes, production fixes, and hotfixes.
  • Lead responses to significant production incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Monitor platform performance, reliability, security, and technical debt while identifying opportunities for modernization and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in release planning and readiness activities, ensuring dependencies, testing, deployment requirements, rollback plans, and documentation are addressed.
  • Maintain accurate technical specifications, configuration documentation, integration mappings, architecture decisions, release records, and engineering knowledge resources.
  • Stay current with Salesforce capabilities, APIs, integration approaches, DevSecOps practices, and approved AI-assisted engineering tools.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Delivery, QA, UI/UX, Data, Security, administrators, and other technology teams to ensure successful technical implementation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of experience in Salesforce/CRM engineering, Salesforce development, software engineering, or a related field. Equivalent relevant professional experience may substitute for a degree.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in technical leadership, team leadership, or people management.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification is required. Salesforce Platform Developer II certification is strongly preferred, while Salesforce architecture, integration, or DevOps certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing, configuring, administering, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing Salesforce platforms in enterprise CRM environments.
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale Salesforce implementations, integrations, upgrades, and production environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow and automation, data modeling, security and sharing, APIs, asynchronous processing, and platform limitations.
  • Experience managing the technical aspects of custom development, enterprise integrations, and data migration initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of integration technologies and patterns, including REST APIs, event-driven architecture, middleware, custom connectors, and web services connecting Salesforce with SaaS, cloud, and on-premises applications.
  • Practical knowledge of source control, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, release management, and DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Experience establishing engineering standards, leading technical solution design, conducting code reviews, and mentoring developers.
  • Ability to perform technical impact assessments, identify dependencies, and recognize when architectural, security, data, or enterprise-level escalation is necessary.
  • Strong technical documentation skills, including the ability to produce implementation specifications, engineering standards, and root cause analyses.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts, decisions, risks, and processes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, prioritization, problem-solving, decision-making, and team development abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt effectively in a complex, evolving, and fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating regularly through video calls with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for approximately 50% of the working time and occasionally lift or handle equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to provide occasional after-hours or on-call support for critical system maintenance and production issue resolution.
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual base salary ranging from $80,000 to $131,000, determined by experience, qualifications, certifications, education, and geographic location.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Supplemental income insurance.
  • Employer-paid disability insurance.
  • Employer-paid life insurance.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for medical and dependent care expenses, with pre-tax contributions.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan.
  • Full-time employment in a remote working environment.
  • Standard Monday–Friday schedule, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET.
  • Opportunities to lead engineering initiatives, develop technical talent, and contribute to enterprise-level Salesforce platform improvements.
  • Consideration of equivalent combinations of education, experience, and skills, with applications encouraged from candidates with diverse professional backgrounds.
