Evening/Night Activity Aide at Elder Care of Bemidji Inc – Bemidji, Minnesota

Looking for friendly, upbeat person to join our activity team! Focus will be providing evening resident activities and assisting with busy residents with dementia into the night. The Activity Aide also assists the Activity Director in planning and executing recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs for all residents.

Job Type: Part-time or Full-time (awake position)

Hours: Every-other weekend and holiday rotation. Approximate hours 6 pm - 2 or 3 am

Job Qualifications:

• Good verbal and written communication skills, including writing in a manner suitable for documentation.
• Working knowledge of and ability to assume a leadership role in conducting a variety of activities such as crafts, creative expression, music, games and gardening.
• Completion of Activity Coordinator Training course desired.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificates desired.
• Feeding training (we provide)
• Good interpersonal skills including group dynamics and teamwork.
• Cheerfulness, positive attitude and ability to motivate people.
• Genuine liking and respect for the elderly and physically and mentally challenged.
• Current driver license and good driving record.
• Ability to work independently and with supervision.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
• Dietary assistance as needed
• Experience working with people with dementia preferred
