About This Position
Job Overview:
RWJBarnabas Health is the largest healthcare system in New Jersey, with 12 acute care hospitals, Children’s Specialized hospitals, Ambulatory Care Centers, Medical Groups, and several other business units. The Manager of Productivity is responsible for the budgeting of FTEs, productivity, staffing models, management of position control and operating targets. This role plays an integral part in assuring productivity is within range, the system’s FTE budget ties to an approved staffing model, operating targets are accurate, and the end users are supported and educated on the productivity system. This position will work directly with the Site Finance team and department heads to educate, train, provide system guidance, and review reports and analysis. This role plays an integral part of the FTE budgeting process and assuring appropriate productivity reporting throughout the year.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
- 5-7 years of experience in Accounting, Productivity, Staffing and/or Financial Analytics, along with system processes
- Demonstrated experience in preparing staffing models required
- Experience in Strata or Axiom Budgeting system, or equivalent
- Exceptional analytical capability, ability to communicate complex issues to various audiences, and proven ability to connect with various business partners.
- Strong communication and well-established process improvement skills required.
- Strong foundation in productivity principles.
- Ability to exercise good judgement and constantly manage competing priorities
- Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrated expertise using Microsoft Excel.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree preferred
Essential Functions:
- Ensure all FTE budgets reconcile to an approved staffing model
- Educate and train Site / Finance / Department Leadership on Strata Productivity Reporting; Assure any enhancements or updates to the system are communicated and understood for all entities assigned.
- Review and/or complete staffing model for all departments at acute care facilities
- Work with Site Finance and Department Heads to review productivity variance findings.
- Educate and assist the sites with the annual FTE budget process in Strata; audit FTE budget and operating targets, respond to site questions and be available to assist, identify issues, question/understand significant FTE budget changes, produce and provide reports to the sites for review, identify and/or resolve issues.
- Assist with Vizient ODB quarterly benchmarking for accurate and timely submission
- Review and be knowledge of any productivity issues
- Understand, execute, and update report writing in Strata to provide valuable information to leadership, sites, or other departments.
