This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Director, Search Engine Marketing (SEM) in United States.

This is a senior growth leadership role responsible for driving one of the most critical and high-scale customer acquisition channels within a fast-growing digital health and wellness environment. You will own the end-to-end SEM strategy across multiple platforms, managing a significant advertising budget while directly impacting revenue, profitability, and customer acquisition efficiency. The role goes beyond campaign optimization, focusing on full-funnel performance from search intent through conversion and onboarding. You will also lead the integration of automation, AI, and machine learning into SEM operations to unlock scalability and efficiency. Working cross-functionally with product, engineering, lifecycle, and brand teams, you will help shape broader go-to-market strategies. This is a highly visible leadership role suited for a data-driven, strategic operator who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and enjoys building scalable systems and high-performing teams.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and scale the end-to-end SEM strategy across Google, Bing, Shopping, YouTube, app ecosystems, and emerging search channels.
  • Manage and optimize a large-scale, 9-figure annual SEM budget, ensuring efficient spend allocation tied to revenue, CAC, LTV, and profitability targets.
  • Develop performance frameworks that directly connect search marketing activities to business outcomes such as conversion, retention, and operating income.
  • Lead the adoption of automation, AI, and machine learning tools to enhance bidding strategies, keyword targeting, creative optimization, and overall campaign performance.
  • Build systems and processes that improve operational efficiency, decision-making speed, and scalability of SEM execution.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Lifecycle teams to optimize landing pages, conversion funnels, and onboarding experiences.
  • Drive experimentation programs across bidding strategies, creatives, and funnel optimization to continuously improve performance.
  • Influence broader go-to-market strategy, ensuring SEM insights inform product positioning, pricing, and acquisition planning.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing SEM team while fostering a culture of accountability, testing, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate performance insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership on a regular basis.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in performance marketing with deep specialization in SEM.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale SEM budgets (typically $20M+ annually) with strong, measurable ROI impact.
  • Strong track record of driving incremental revenue growth and improving marketing efficiency at scale.
  • Experience implementing automation, scripting, or AI/ML-driven solutions within paid media environments.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to connect channel performance to broader business metrics and outcomes.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, UX, engineering, and lifecycle teams to improve conversion and retention.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing senior-level marketing teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence executive decision-making.
  • Bonus: experience in high-growth, consumer subscription, or healthcare-related industries.
  • Bonus: familiarity with experimentation frameworks and advanced attribution modeling.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary with equity compensation for full-time roles.
  • Unlimited paid time off, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid parental leave and family support benefits.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching contributions.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
  • Offsite team retreats and company gatherings.
  • Flexible, people-first work culture focused on wellness, inclusion, and performance.
