Plant/Yard Coordinator

You ensure a clean, organized, and compliant yard environment that contributes to overall operational efficiency.
Yard operations run smoothly under your proactive maintenance and attention to detail, minimizing downtime.
Effective communication and coordination with dispatchers and drivers result in timely material handling and batching.
Your focus on safety and environmental compliance helps reduce risks and maintains a high standard of operations.
Your Regular Responsibilities
- Maintain and upkeep the yard and parking areas, including tasks like trash removal, landscape maintenance, snow removal, and light maintenance.
- Monitor materials and facilities, ensuring continuous control over inventory and product quality.
- Coordinate daily material orders with dispatchers and drivers and manage batching processes.
- Perform preventative maintenance on yard and plant equipment, ensuring smooth operations.
- Maintain the area around aggregate hoppers, clean the plant, and manage environmental compliance.
- Safely operate all yard equipment and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Adhere to OSHA and Apex safety rules and regulations at all times while working.
- Participate in safety training, support a strong safety culture, and follow safety procedures.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials and ensure aggregate supplies are managed effectively.
- Perform inspections of products, equipment, and facilities to ensure quality and compliance.
- Support street sweeping and other tasks for county compliance.
- Screen incoming materials and sort them appropriately.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
Technical Requirements
- High school diploma, preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a production environment, preferably in concrete or construction materials
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Experience with production software preferred.
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards in a production setting.
- Familiarity with concrete batch plant operations preferred.
- Ability to operate front-end loader, preferred.
- CDL license, preferred.
