Network Engineer at Sterling Construction Company, Inc. – The Woodlands, Texas

Sterling Infrastructure is looking for a hands-on Network Engineer to jump in and make an immediate impact. This is a 3-month onsite contract role based in The Woodlands, TX — perfect for a Meraki expert who loves solving complex network challenges and modernizing enterprise environments.

What You’ll Do

1. Own and manage Cisco Meraki (MX, MS, MR) environments
2. Configure VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, and wireless networks
3. Troubleshoot complex issues (DNS, DHCP, routing, WAN, ACLs)
4. Support SD-WAN and hybrid network environments
5. Lead hardware refreshes, firewall migrations, and site deployments
6. Partner with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and helpdesk teams

What You Bring

1. 3–5+ years of network engineering experience
2. Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki
3. Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VPNs, routing, and enterprise networking
4. Experience with firewall platforms (FortiGate, Palo Alto a plus)
5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-location environment
6. CCNA/CCNP or Meraki certifications preferred
