Job Description:

Gamer’s Choice (GC) is searching for a new TCG Grader team member to authenticate and grade trading cards (sports, non-sports, and trading card game (TCG) cards alike). Ideal candidates will possess comprehensive industry knowledge of trading cards, non-sports, and TCG collectibles, be an expert in authentication and grading standards, and be able to add experience and depth to the GC Grading Team. Individuals should be detail-oriented, have strong organizational skills, be able to focus on cards for extended periods, and be able to work in a positive team environment.

Preferred applicants will have one to three years of grading experience as a professional, dealer, or collector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert on GC’s card authentication and grading standards
  • Serve as an expert in GC’s processing procedures and protocols
  • Authenticate and evaluate the condition of trading cards (sports, non-sports, or TCG, depending on business needs)
  • Maintain individual daily grading/production goals
  • Improve knowledge and skill with active research and experience
  • Stay up-to-date with current industry developments and news, especially as it pertains to new counterfeits and alteration methods circulating the market
  • Maintain the quality of the grading product
  • Engage with and participate in monthly meetings and re-training sessions as needed to help further develop skills and enhance product knowledge
  • Research, identify, and authenticate collectible trading cards and sports cards
  • Assesses the condition, quality, and grade the item using established standards
  • Utilize the internal software system to enter all applicable grading information

Qualifications

  • Typing, mouse work, and sitting and looking at a computer for long periods of time
  • The ability to handle high-value, delicate items with care
  • The ability to routinely lift, carry, and move materials up to 40 pounds
  • Being able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Trading Cards is required
  • Expansive knowledge as it relates to card printing, including printing processes, variants, and errors
  • 1 – 3 years of direct grading experience as a card grader or as a dealer/collector with extensive grading submission history
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to detect counterfeit and altered cards with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills to achieve production goals and maximize productivity

Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour DOE
