This is a full time, hybrid role with our office in New York. This position does require 3 days in office and 2 days that can be completed remotely from home. The hiring base annual salary range for this position is $95,000 - $105,000.

The Technical Designer is responsible for executing style development from prototype fit through production, ensuring garments meet design intent, fit standards, and customer expectations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality and consistency across all stages of development by partnering closely with Design, Pattern Making, and external vendors. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining quality and consistency throughout the development process.

What You'll Do:
- Responsible for all aspects of garment fit and construction from first sample spec through production.
- Work closely with Pattern Maker to develop templates/grading for all products and maintains in Blue Cherry Tech Pack system for all programs.
- Evaluates prototype/size set samples for construction and provides comments to vendors showing corrections on technical sketches.
- Work closely with Pattern Maker in identifying solutions to all fit/construction issues.
- Revise templates/grading in Blue Cherry and release Tech Packs to factories.
- Drive Time and Action Calendar from Prototype to Production approval stage.
- Daily communication with factories/suppliers and internal cross functional teams throughout approval process monitoring issues affecting deliveries.
- Maintains library for existing silhouettes as well as remaining current with market trends.
- Initiates cost effective silhouettes and/or construction alternatives to Design while maintaining overall aesthetics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or Manufacturing
- 6+ years of experience as a Technical Designer
- Strong technical foundation in manual and computer-aided 2D pattern correction and grading
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, including flat sketch creation
- Experience creating and interpreting technical design details to achieve desired fit and design intent
- Apparel industry experience, with a focus on infant product development, fabrics, and product types
- Comfortable working in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Illustrator
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy, organization, and follow-through
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate professionally within a team
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Self-directed, adaptable, and willing to learn new systems or technologies while collaborating cross-functionally
