Location: Stevensville, MD, Chesapeake Bay Business Park
Reports To: Manufacturing Manager
Employment Type: Full Time, 40 hours per week
Shift: Monday through Thursday, 7 am - 5:30 pm (30 minute lunch break)

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Bulb Division as a Quartz Fabricator I. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates looking to build a career in manufacturing. In this hands-on role, you will form and shape precision quartz bulbs used in microwave UV curing equipment, contributing directly to our production while learning the skills necessary for advancement to Quartz Fabricator II.
Key Responsibilities
As a Quartz Fabricator I, you will:
- Perform entry-level quartz fabrication tasks necessary to produce precision quartz bulbs, including:
- Operating oxygen/propane torches
- Snap cutting quartz
- Using laboratory glass washers and auto lathes
- Preparing quartz blanks and managing furnace operations
- Tip-off procedures at pump/flush stations
- Packing
- Equipment maintenance
- Conducting product testing
- Follow detailed work instructions and procedures
- Inspect and test quartz fabrications using tools, fixtures, and gauges
- Promote and adhere to safe shop practices
- Maintain accurate records in both written and electronic formats
- Actively learn the responsibilities of a Quartz Fabricator II
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of the use of hand tools, power tools.
- Ensure meticulous attention to detail.
- Capable of understanding and effectively communicating with other staff members about all related functions.
Education & Experience:
- High school coursework with a strong interest and aptitude in mathematics and science
- Associate degree in science or college-level courses in math/science a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift to 30 lbs.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Good vision (corrected or uncorrected)
- Ability to stand or sit for up to 8 hours
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and crouch without limitations
Work Environment
Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to quartz fabrication processes
