Mechanical Engineer at JGMS Government Services LLC – Schenectady, New York

Position Summary:

JGMS is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our project team and support on-site construction projects. This position will provide support, oversight, and consult for a a variety of construction projects. Qualified candidates will have a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and five to 10 or more years of relevant experience. Work will be performed on-site with the opportunity for some telework.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and define project scope with sponsors
• Work with a project team to develop specifications, cost estimates, drawing reviews, and provide engineering support during construction phase for buildings and utility projects
• Oversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates
• Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and five to 10 or more years of experience performing mechanical engineering tasks including development of contract documents, calculations, and cost estimates
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards. Experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFI's, construction inspections, etc.)

Desired Qualifications:

• EIT certificate and/or P.E. license
• Engineering consulting experience
• Working knowledge of ASME codes
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems

Security Clearance:

The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L Security Clearance is required.

Background Check and Screenings:
