What will you do as an Psychiatric Crisis Worker?

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations in the Emergency Department, for crisis outreach calls, and for direct admissions
• Consult with oncall psychiatrists to determine patient disposition and implement recommendations
• Manage crisis calls from the community and respond to after-hours mental health emergencies
• Coordinate with ER staff to facilitate timely, compassionate inpatient admissions
• Communicate with referral sources, families, and payors to support continuity of care
• Complete documentation, legal admission forms, and required training
• Participate in a rotating oncall/backup schedule to ensure 24/7 crisis coverage

What do you need to be an Psychiatric Crisis Worker?

• Master’s degree in Social Work (required)
• Licensed or license-eligible
• Experience performing mental health and substance use evaluations
• Knowledge of DSM-IV-TR and hospital admission/continued stay criteria
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and crisisintervention skills

Salary Range: $23.40-33.93 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
