In Radiology, an actionable finding is a finding that is identified on imaging exams that were performed for a different purpose and requires follow up. This position completes a variety of tasks to support patient care and provider communication as part of the Actionable Findings Team.
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Manages Epic Actionable Findings worklist and gathers information from multiple sources within the electronic medical record.
2. Reviews the medical record for identified radiologic follow up recommendations.
3. Through telephonic, electronic, and written communication, ensures the patient and/or patient’s primary care provider is informed of the actionable finding.
4. Documents actions and steps taken in the medical record.
5. Refers questions or concerns regarding the actionable finding(s) to the reading radiologist.
All responsibilities are essential job functions.
II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Completion of an accredited school of practical nursing program.
2. Current Massachusetts LPN licensure.
Preferred:

Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Minimum of five years healthcare experience.
2. Skilled with utilization of an electronic medical record and other software.
3. Computer literate with knowledge of Excel.
4. Strong interpersonal skills are required to gather information from individuals, build relationships that support collaborative work within the department and across the organization and provide exceptional service to patients and providers.
5. Strong time management skills with attention to detail.
6. Must function independently as well as part of a team.
7. Demonstrated critical thinking skills
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
