This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the creation of high-quality, persuasive proposals that drive business growth. The Lead Proposal Writer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including technical experts and partners, to develop compelling proposals that clearly communicate complex information. You will analyze RFPs, maintain proposal processes, and ensure consistency and compliance across submissions. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional writing skills, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Your work will directly impact business development success, strengthen client relationships, and support organizational growth initiatives.
- Lead and coordinate proposal development, gathering and structuring information, editing drafts, and ensuring timely delivery
- Analyze RFPs to develop compliant, persuasive proposal documents, including compliance matrices, storyboards, and win themes
- Collaborate with technical experts, partners, and internal teams to gather content and develop accurate, compelling proposals
- Maintain and manage proposal databases and past performance documentation for efficient reuse
- Support business development by researching new opportunities, assessing the competitive landscape, and identifying potential partners
- Establish priorities and timelines for proposal development, and proactively communicate challenges and mitigation plans
- Continuously improve proposal processes, templates, and standards to ensure quality and consistency
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 5 years of proposal writing experience (3+ years with federal contracts preferred)
- Familiarity with federal government contracting, including FAR compliance and the federal acquisition process
- Strong project management skills, capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, persuasive content
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing content from multiple contributors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and proposal software such as Capture to Proposal, GovWin, or Sam.gov
- Experience with Department of Defense proposals, or military experience in relevant MOSs, is highly valuable
