This role serves as the technical and strategic face of a leading data security and cloud analytics platform. The Senior Director, Field CTO will engage with executive and technical stakeholders across highly regulated enterprises, translating complex security and AI challenges into actionable solutions. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with public-facing thought leadership, including speaking engagements, content creation, and advisory support. The role offers an opportunity to influence product direction, drive adoption across global channels, and build strong technical communities. Success in this position requires a balance of strategic vision, technical depth, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences. The position is fully remote, offering flexibility while engaging with a global market of top-tier enterprises.
- Act as the principal technical ambassador, representing the platform at major industry events, conferences, and executive briefings.
- Advise Global 2000 prospects on secure, scalable data architectures, helping align business enablement with risk mitigation strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with channel partners, VARs, and GSIs, enabling their technical teams to deploy and support solutions effectively.
- Funnel technical insights and customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams to shape the roadmap and inform strategic product decisions.
- Develop high-quality technical content including white papers, architectural guides, blogs, and webinars to educate and influence the market.
- Lead technical discussions and workshops with enterprise customers, providing expert guidance on cloud, data security, and AI integration.
- Measure and enhance the platform’s technical presence in the market, driving adoption and influencing key industry conversations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience; advanced degrees preferred.
- Minimum 9 years in technical roles such as engineering, architecture, or technical consulting.
- At least 5 years in public-facing roles including Field CTO, Technical Evangelist, or Developer Advocate, with a demonstrable portfolio of speaking engagements and technical content.
- Deep experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executives and technical leaders alike.
- Experience in cybersecurity, data security frameworks (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR), and cryptographic technologies (tokenization, encryption, IAM) strongly preferred.
- Experience building relationships in cybersecurity channel ecosystems, including VARs, GSIs, and analyst communities.
- Demonstrated success in 0-to-1 product environments or startup settings highly valued.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence across functions and teams.
- Willingness to travel as required to support key accounts, events, and partner engagements.
