POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Logistics & Indirect Category Leader, the Logistics Coordinator will support continuous daily logistics operations, including arranging imports and coordinating domestic deliveries with our 3PL and other carriers. The ideal candidate will exercise their strong communication and organizational skills while working with freight forwarders to determine availability, rates and delivery status. The Logistics Coordinator will operate with high attention to detail while providing expertise for trade compliance import activities across all Solve IMG brands, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable fostering relationships and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, while always operating with the highest level of customer service in their daily engagements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain working knowledge of all applicable import regulations, and HTS codes, and provides updates to management regarding current and pending compliance regulation initiatives and legislation that may affect company business
  • Monitor tariff rates, and shipping cost drivers in the ERP system and partners with finance to ensure cost-drivers are accurately reflected
  • Track and trace ocean, rail, trucking, and air shipments daily, ensuring timely pick-up of cargo and dispatching notifications to our network and carriers, while updating the sales team with container delivery status
  • Works with customers, carriers, and warehouses to resolve issues with shipments
  • Provide analysis to track import costs, trends, shipping lead times, and other import KPI metrics
  • Operates with a continuous improvement mindset, being mindful of identifying any potential gaps with compliances issues, and subsequently assists with implementing controls to eliminate them
  • Works with Freight Forwarders and internal IT teams to develop EDI interfaces that automatically update container status info in Solve’s ERP system.
  • Assists with ad hoc departmental duties, such as: reconciling billing, documentation, and closing out shipments as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of multi-mode logistics experience, including ocean import experience.
  • Demonstrable experience with scheduling, trucking coordination, planning, customer service, and/or freight management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with an ERP system
  • Experience quoting/pricing import shipments, including calculating profitability margins
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Licensed Customs Broker certification preferred
