Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Jennmar is seeking to hire a Packer responsible for preparing products for shipment by cleaning packaging materials, placing items into containers, and accurately weighing and labeling them. They also conduct final inspections to identify defective items, ensure all approved products are moved to the loading area or inventory, and maintain detailed records of materials and shipments. The role also involves performing routine maintenance on the printing machine. Additional duties include troubleshooting equipment issues, such as unusual noises, and ensuring the printing press and its peripherals are kept clean and in good working condition.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED Required.
  • Minimum Two (2) Years related experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Familiarity with packaging equipment and materials
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols in a warehouse or manufacturing setting
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments

Preferred (but not always required):

  • Prior experience in packaging, warehousing, or manufacturing
  • Forklift certification (if required for the job)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and package products according to company specifications and quality standards.
  • Review job orders to ensure correct materials, labels, and packaging are used.
  • Inspect printed materials for defects, ensuring proper alignment, color, and finish before packing.
  • Assemble boxes, cartons, or other containers and securely package products to prevent damage during shipping or storage.
  • Operate packaging machinery and adjust settings as needed for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Label and tag products correctly for identification, inventory, or shipping.
  • Stack, wrap, and palletize packed materials for storage or distribution.
  • Perform basic maintenance on packing equipment, including cleaning and troubleshooting minor issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
  • Follow safety procedures to prevent workplace injuries and ensure proper handling of materials.
