Server - Part Time at Westwood Country Club – Rocky River, Ohio

Position: Server, Pool Server, Banquet Server

Position Summary: Greets members, takes orders, serves members and guests. Sets tables, clears table. Assist with Banquet set-up or tear-down as directed.

Reports To: Dining and Bar Manager, Outlets Manager, Banquet Manager

Status: Full, time, Part time and Seasonal, Non-Exempt

Pay: Westwood Country Club is a non-tipping club.

Job Tasks (Duties):
1. Set up and clean banquet rooms and serve banquets.
2. Performs related banquet set-up tasks.
3. Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating them.
4. Takes beverage orders and serves food in specified station.
5. Pours and refills wine, coffee, water and other beverages served with and after the meal.
6. Clears soiled dishes.
7. Cleans all assigned work areas in dining and banquet areas.
8. Advises supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
9. Assists in closing functions such as removing linen, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room for next function.
10. Attends staff meetings including pre-service (line-up) sessions.
11. Consistently follows all food safety-related requirements.
12. Completes other appropriate assignments made by manager on duty.
13. Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the manager on duty and/or AGM.
14. Performs other tasks and duties that may arise.

Knowledge, Skill, Ability Requirements:
• Knowledge of all order on arrival menu items, preparation methods, ingredients, garnishes and wine list.
• Ability to execute all service types.
• Assures that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
• Food safety certification preferred.
• Follows age restrictions regarding serving alcohol.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach, walk, stand, stoop, climb stairs, balance and/or crouch. Continuous repetitive motions.
• Physical exertion over long periods of time
• May work in hot and humid environment.
• Push, pull and lift 50 pounds.
• Able to work in a busy, noisy environment.
• Able to tolerate exposure to cleaning agents.
• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment, which is typical of this position.
• Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping.
• Continuous standing and walking, must be able to be on one’s feet for extended periods of time.
