Position Duties


The Director of the Clinical Lab and Simulation Center position is a 12-month, full-time faculty position, with 50% of time devoted to administrative leadership in the Clinical Lab and Simulation Center and 50% dedicated to teaching in both didactic and clinical courses.

The Director of the clinical Lab and Simulation Center plays a vital leadership role in advancing the program's academic, operational, and mission-driven goals in clinical skills, simulation, and experiential learning. As the program develops, the Director will work with the BSN program Director to recruit and supervise simulation staff, mentor faculty in simulation pedagogy, and ensure that all lab and simulation activities reflect Loyola's Jesuit values and commitment to cura personalis—care for the whole person.

1) Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in Nursing from an accredited institution. (2) Current unencumbered RN license in the state of Maryland or current licensure in another state with the ability to obtain Maryland RN licensure;(3) Minimum of five years of professional nursing experience, including both clinical practice and academic teaching; (4) Demonstrated experience in simulation-based learning, clinical skills instruction, and/or lab management; (5) Evidence of leadership, administrative, and curriculum development experience with knowledge of outcomes assessment and continuous quality improvement (CQI) processes; (6) Familiarity with the AACN Essentials (2021), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Standards, and Maryland Board of Nursing regulations; (7) Ability to integrate simulation and skills development throughout the curriculum to foster clinical reasoning, safety, and interprofessional collaboration; (8) Strong organizational, management, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across faculty and administrative teams; (9) Commitment to Loyola's Jesuit educational mission, including ethical practice, service, social justice, and holistic student development; (10) Proficiency with simulation management systems (e.g., Laerdal SimCapture) or willingness to develop expertise; (11) Experience with or interest in CCNE accreditation, MHEC approval, and other regulatory compliance processes; (12) Active participation in professional organizations and nursing education advocacy; (13) Ability to engage in teaching that promotes inclusion, belonging, and academic excellence in a diverse learning community.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $92,000.00
