Union Day Porter Position

***This is a Union job. The selected candidate will be required to sign up and become a member of the Delaware Union.***

About the role:

A Day Porter Cleaner typically involves maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of a facility during the day. This includes tasks like cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, common areas, and high-traffic zones, as well as performing light maintenance and reporting issues. They also handle tasks like emptying trash, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and potentially assisting with setting up or breaking down events.

Locations(s) & Compensation:

• 8397- WFT- Wilmington, DE: Pay rate $16.40 per/hour. Hours are Mondays thru Fridays from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. (NO SATURDAY OR SUNDAY WORK PERMITTED)

Key Responsibilities of a Day Porter:

• Cleaning and Sanitation:
  • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, lobbies, hallways, elevators, and other common areas.
  • Cleaning and polishing glass doors, windows, and elevator surfaces.
  • Dusting furniture, fixtures, countertops, and other surfaces.
  • Vacuuming carpets and rugs.
  • Sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Wiping down surfaces to remove spills and debris.
  • Emptying trash and recycling bins.
    Other Responsibilities:
    • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
    • Following safety protocols and using cleaning equipment properly.
    • May be required to assist with other tasks as assigned

Dress Code:

Employees are required to wear Elite Uniform during working hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2 years of previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• MUST have a reliable car to location.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must Be Able to Lift 20+ pounds Regularly Every Day, Bend, Stretch, Climb Stairs, Climb A Ladder, Reach, Twist, Sit, Walk, and squat. Must Be Comfortable Working on Feet for Entire Shift.
