This role is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive assurance program to ensure compliance with global platform regulations. You will act as a strategic partner and independent advisor, translating complex legislative requirements into audit-ready processes and internal controls. This position provides high-touch support to cross-functional teams, ensuring platform operations meet regulatory expectations while mitigating risk. You will lead external audits, manage regulatory assessments, and monitor evolving legal landscapes to keep frameworks future-proof. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring collaboration across Legal, Product, Engineering, and Privacy teams. Your work will directly influence operational compliance, risk management, and the organizations ability to navigate complex global regulations.
Accountabilities:- Design, implement, and maintain scalable assurance frameworks for global regulatory compliance.
- Translate complex laws and regulations into practical, defensible processes and internal controls.
- Advise and educate cross-functional teams on regulatory expectations and trends.
- Identify gaps in platform risk management and develop strategic remediation plans with internal partners.
- Lead external audits and third-party assessments, serving as the primary point of contact for regulators.
- Monitor regulatory developments to ensure the assurance framework remains current and effective.
- Utilize advanced audit techniques and a common-controls approach to optimize compliance efficiency.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Internal Audit, Regulatory Compliance, or Risk Management, preferably in tech or online platforms.
- Expertise in platform regulations, such as EU Digital Services Act, UK Online Safety Act, GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA.
- Strong knowledge of privacy, internet, and platform governance concepts, and their operational implications.
- Experience designing and implementing internal controls and assurance programs.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee multi-month audits involving global stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; able to build frameworks for emerging regulations.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, or CIPP/E are preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex regulatory requirements for diverse stakeholders.
