JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant

DEPARTMENT: Corporate

REPORTS TO: Controller

LOCATION: Quivera Enterprises Headquarters, Edmond, OK

POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and providing strategic guidance to management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzing financial statements and reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilizing financial software and tools to perform complex data analysis.
  • Supervising, preparing, verifying, and maintaining financial records, including journal entries and general ledger accounts.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, policies, and industry regulations.
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, such as balance sheets, income, and cash flow statements.
  • Presenting financial information to stakeholders, management, and auditors.
  • Collaborating with auditors and assisting with financial audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Collaborating with management to develop financial strategies and forecasts for the organization's overall growth and sustainability.
  • Providing financial insights and recommending solutions to optimize resource allocation and cost management.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and legal requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Designing and implementing internal control systems to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Extracting and interpreting financial data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that may impact business performance.
  • Generating reports and delivering key financial insights to aid in decision-making processes.
  • Leading financial projects, such as budgeting, cost control, and financial system implementations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of financial initiatives.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in financial analysis, including accurately interpreting complex financial data.
  • Expertise in using financial software and tools to streamline data processing and analysis.
  • Exceptional eye for detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records and reports.
  • Thoroughness in identifying errors and inconsistencies to ensure compliance and reliability.
  • Effective written and verbal communication capabilities to facilitate clear and concise financial reporting and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ability to present complex financial information in a manner that non-financial professionals easily understand.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and encourage a collaborative team environment.
  • Agility in adapting to changing financial regulations and market dynamics.
  • Proficiency in identifying and resolving complex accounting issues and discrepancies.

  • Payroll and Payroll Tax Accrual
  • Intercompany Reconciliation
  • Balance Sheet – Account Reconciliations (Monthly Basis)
  • Funds Control – Invoice Consolidation and Disbursement
  • Other accounting duties as required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position is primarily office-based and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The role also involves frequent walking, standing, and occasional bending or reaching. The individual must be able to lift up to 15 pounds as needed. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings with clients and/or government agencies, which may include air travel and overnight stays. The position may also require extended working hours to meet business deadlines or accommodate meetings across different time zones.
