Maritime Sheet Metal Installation Team - (2 positions total)
The SPC Installation Team is a skilled sheet metal and mechanical installation crew tasked with working aboard vessels of varying size and class. This hands‑on role requires strong welding expertise in marine mechanical installations: sheet metal, HVAC, and habitability systems.
Employment Type: Full-Time, CA
Reports To: Installation Foreman
Required Qualifications
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of maritime or industrial welding, sheet metal fitting, mechanical installation, or sheet metal/HVAC experience.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and metal fitting tools (cutting, bending, welding support).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Capable of working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varied shipboard conditions.
- Able to stand, kneel, climb, and crouch for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in hot, noisy, or low‑ventilation environments.
- Exposure to fumes, paints, oils, solvents, and industrial hazards while wearing required PPE.
- Frequent movement throughout shipyards and vessels, including climbing ladders, stairs, and ramps.
- Ability to adapt to rapid changes in environment and microclimates.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Work performed aboard vessels and within shipyard facilities.
- Day or night shifts, extended hours, or weekend work as needed based on project demands.
- Occasional travel to ports or remote job sites.
