Job Description

We are a leading fabricator of high-quality steel Power Delivery Structures for the electric utility industry. We take pride in precision, efficiency and craftsmanship across all operations.

The CNC Tube Laser Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of CNC tube laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts from metal tubing and pipes according to precise engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, be detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical diploma or certification in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred.
• Additional training in mechanical systems, CAD/CAM, blueprint reading and quality inspection or automation programming is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS
• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing and 3D modeling or a related field, with at least 2 years’ operating CNC laser cutting machinery (preferably tube laser systems such as BLM, Amada, or Trumpf).
• Prior experience with fiber laser cutting machines required.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders at an intermediate or advanced level.
• ERP software experience preferred.
• Forklift or pallet jack operation experience a plus.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English – read, write, and speak) preferred.

Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, 3D modeling and work orders.
• Proficient in CNC programming (G-code) and familiarity with CAD/CAM or nesting software.
• Strong understanding of material properties and cutting requirements for steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Skilled in performing precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other quality instruments.
• Solid mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry for layout and setup accuracy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and operate CNC tube laser machines, including fixture adjustments, raw material loading, and finished part unloading.
• Verify machine readiness and ensure programs are optimized for accuracy and efficiency.
• Select, load, and edit CNC programs using nesting software, 3D Modeling and control interfaces.
• Monitor material utilization and optimize cutting parameters to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure all finished parts meet dimensional and quality standards.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision tools and maintain inspection documentation.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify issues affecting production quality or efficiency.
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs as outlined by the manufacturer.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine setup, weld sequence, and specifications.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including PPE use and safe material handling (forklift/crane operation as needed).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Complete all the required production records, inspection forms, and maintenance logs accurately and promptly.

WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Full time shop exposure.
2. Extreme temperatures. (Sometimes due to season).
3. Perform work standing up for 8-10 hours per day and up to 7 days a week.
4. Good vision, hearing, smell and balance.
5. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
6. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly as well as climb stairs and ladders.

SCHEDULED WORK HOURS AND TIMES
• Monday - Friday 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM. SATURDAYS as needed.
• Will require training at our Fort Worth Plant for a period of two months prior to starting at our Rhome, Texas facility.
