This is a high-impact position operating in a fast-moving, multicultural, and mission-driven environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead strategic engagement with Nordic government institutions, ministries, and public agencies across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland
  • Develop and manage long-term fundraising and partnership strategies aligned with organizational priorities in conservation and development
  • Identify and secure public funding, blended finance opportunities, and innovative financing mechanisms supporting climate and biodiversity initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with multilateral development banks, development finance institutions, and global climate funds
  • Drive collaboration with internal teams to ensure alignment between funding strategies, program design, and implementation requirements
  • Support proposal development and ensure compliance with donor requirements, including budgets, eligibility, and reporting standards
  • Contribute to the structuring and design of innovative finance solutions such as blended finance, carbon markets, and green bonds
  • Represent the organization in high-level forums, coalitions, and international platforms to advance strategic positioning and influence policy and funding agendas
  • Coordinate engagement efforts with embassies and international institutions to strengthen development and investment partnerships in Africa
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience working with Nordic institutions and internationally funded development or conservation programs
  • 5–8 years of experience with multilateral institutions such as IFIs, DFIs, or global development finance organizations
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, International Development, Environmental Management, or related field
  • Strong expertise in blended finance, climate finance, biodiversity funding, and sustainable development mechanisms
  • Proven track record in securing funding and managing high-value institutional partnerships
  • Established network within Nordic public sector agencies, development finance institutions, or climate funding organizations
  • Experience leading proposal development processes and coordinating complex stakeholder engagements
  • Strong negotiation, diplomacy, and relationship-building skills in multicultural environments
  • Ability to translate complex financial and policy concepts into clear, actionable strategies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with executive-level stakeholders
  • Fluency in English required; French and Norwegian are considered an asset
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with senior international leadership roles
  • Fully remote or hybrid work flexibility depending on location and program needs
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact global conservation and climate initiatives
  • Exposure to leading international financial institutions and government stakeholders
  • Collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on sustainability and development impact
  • International travel opportunities for high-level engagement and partnership development
  • Work within a multicultural and globally distributed team
  • Strong professional development exposure in blended finance and conservation funding innovation.
