This role is ideal for someone who has previously served as the sole IT person at a company and is comfortable owning the full spectrum of IT responsibilities — from day-to-day support to longer-term infrastructure planning. You will work closely with and report directly to the Director of Operations, and thrive in a fast-paced, startup-oriented environment where you take pride in keeping systems running smoothly. This is a largely independent role, and the right candidate will be self-directed, resourceful, and confident in making decisions without a large IT team behind them.

Content Filtering & Security Management - Administer web filtering, firewall rules, and endpoint security tools - Monitor for threats, apply patches, and ensure compliance with security policies - Reporting - Produce regular IT reports for leadership covering ticket trends, asset status, security posture, and system performance - Office Move & IT Infrastructure Planning - Lead IT planning and execution for office moves, including cabling, network setup, workstation deployment, and vendor coordination

Qualifications

Required - Prior experience as the sole or primary IT person at an organization, demonstrating the ability to independently manage all aspects of IT without a dedicated team - 5+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration - Experience working in a startup or rapidly growing organization strongly preferred - Expert-level proficiency across the Microsoft 365 platform, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, Entra ID, and Power Automate - Proficiency with helpdesk ticketing systems, user provisioning workflows, and asset management - Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) and telecom carrier platforms (MetTel experience a plus) - Working knowledge of network infrastructure, content filtering tools, and endpoint security - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently - Excellent communication skills; comfortable interfacing directly with leadership.

Preferred: Microsoft 365 certification (e.g., MS-102 Administrator Expert, or Teams/Endpoint Administrator Associate) strongly preferred - Experience with AI tools and a demonstrated interest in leveraging AI to improve IT operations or team productivity of AI-related training or certifications; experience planning and executing IT setups for office relocations.
